I've always liked the way a round pin feels through a big turn, and combined with the four-fin set-up it really flies. For those making the transition from a traditional tri-fin to a quad, this is a great template to start with.
In order to intergrate smoothly with other boards in my quiver, I start with a fuller template and foil similar to my fish. When my fish start to out-run barrels, I make the switch to my round pin quad. It'll stay nice and nimble in the pocket, but if you need to drive down the line with tons of speed the quad set-up allows you to tap into those extra gears that'll make big cutbacks a favorite in your surfing repertoire.
Round pin quads in longer lengths work well as step up boards in a fish-oriented quiver...
Available with glass-on fiberglass fins by Chuck Ames, bamboo fins by Marlin Bacon, and marine-ply fins by Dan Partch. For travel and experimentation I also offer my boards with the Lokbox removable fin system.
